Today Is My Birthday
Today is my birthday
Celebrate my life with you
And remember the good times
Forget the bad.
Look up towards the sun
And catch every ray of light
Upon your cheek.
For I am there with you.
Today is my birthday,
Be happy for me.
My life was full.
I had the pleasure of love
And the joy of my family.
Do not be sad
Look up towards the stars
And catch each twinkle
In your heart.
For I am there with you
Today is my birthday
My legacy is not wealth
Or mighty belongings,
My legacy is you and your life.
Spend it wisely and carefully,
Guard it always.
Do not be sad.
Feel the wind on your face
And in your hair
And know that I loved you
For I am there with you in your laughter
And in your hearts.
Today is my birthday,
Learn to live again without me.
Take my strength with you
For you are not alone.
Do not be sad
Feel the rain on your face
Feel all life's treasures and
Know that you are alive!
At each step of the way
I will help you
For I am with you always
Until we meet again.
Today is my birthday...

β Peace β
Give me a place free of fear,
Where only peace is near,
Where conflict is unfound,
As gentle rings each sound;
Where the eye beholds beauty,
Completely simple and free,
Untouched by evil or hate,
But in a tranquil state;
Quietly dwelling day by day,
Ever that way to stay.

β The Eagle β
Among the timbers; oaks and elms,
Not far from brackish seas,
Alights a golden Ern.
With winged strength and keen eye,
A revered being; Aetites.
His talons anchor to the branch,
High in trees above.
With affirmation he proclaims his might,
And beckons homage,
A wondrous Bird of Jove.
Immortal is he, this golden Eagle
Ever symbolic of ancient kings.
For after death he will soar
From the depths: a Phoenix,
With greater courage and stronger wings.

Echoing Love
Author Unknown
If the words I have spoken
echo on your mind,
my voice can never be stilled.
If you remember my mirth
when I enter your thoughts,
my smile cannot be erased.
If my mem'ry lightens your life
like the morning sunrise,
then each day we'll meet anew.
If you remember me with love,
how can I then be gone.
For in your heart I shall live on.

β‘
THEY SOFTLY WALK
β‘
They are not gone who pass
Beyond the clasp of hand,
Out from the stone embrace.
They are but come so close
We need not grope with hands,
Nor look to see, nor try
To catch the sound of feet.
They have put off their shoes
Softly to walk by day
Within our thoughts, to tread
At night our dream-led paths
Of sleep.
β‘
They are not lost who find
The sunset gate, the goal
Of all their faithful years.
Not lost are they who reach
The summit of their climb,
The peak above the clouds
And storms. They are not lost
Who find the light of sun
And stars and God.
β‘
They are not dead who live
In hearts they leave behind.
In those whom they have blessed
They live a life again,
And shall live through the years
Eternal life, and grow
Each day more beautiful
As time declares their good,
Forgets the rest, and proves
Their immortality.

The butterfly emerges
from its silken shell ~
Reborn it arises,
no longer bound to earth.
Free at last, the butterfly glides
to heights unknown before.
β
So do our loved ones find,
a beautiful release
As, earthbound no more,
they leave our sight and joyfully rise
to a garden of matchless beauty,
a place of light and peace.

THE LIGHT OF PEACE
Author Unknown
Many waters I have sailed
Throughout the voyage of life
Over waters tranquil
Free of pain and strife
Sometimes tossed in raging storms
Though never left alone
There was a light that beckoned me
Toward the shores of home
Always in the distance
This beacon I could see
Giving me direction
As I sailed upon life’s sea
My journey is completed now
The tide is drifting in
My vessel moves on gentle waves …
Eternity begins

From the dawning of new life
To the fullness of our years,
Our lives are filled with many
Wonderful blessings.
•:*:• ♥ •:*:•
From the earliest remembrance of our childhood
To the faintest memory of the aged,
Our minds are filled with many
Wonderful blessings.
•:*:• ♥ •:*:•
From the light of a beautiful sunrise
To the star studded night,
Our days are filled with many
Wonderful blessings.
•:*:• ♥ •:*:•
From the works of our labour
To the much needed rest,
Our bodies are filled with many
Wonderful blessings.
•:*:• ♥ •:*:•
From all of these, we can see how
God's blessings work in you and me.
But better still, is that one thing
Of which the angels all do sing.
•:*:• ♥ •:*:•
A soul passing from life unto death,
A soul leaving this world for eternal rest,
A soul reunited with the Father ... Yes,
This is the greatest of all our many blessings.

I travel an unfixable road
That life has tragically bestowed
Winding holes I cannot go around
As I try unsuccessfully to rebound
This road has taken many turns
Onlookers have so many concerns
They voice them each and every day...
I want to scream "I'm not Okay"
To explain this very unfixable road
My body and mind could totally explode
For they won't listen ...won't understand
How different the lay is to my land
I travel this road that has taken it's toll
Left my heart with an un-patchable hole
So wide, so deep, this road of grief
Life's forever endless dreadful thief
It cannot be paved, sealed, or covered
When you travel this road it is quickly discovered
That nothing can fix this unfixable road
That life has tragically bestowed.

♥†♥ A Little Step Away ♥†♥
To close the eye, to fall asleep
To draw a labored breath
To find relief from daily cares
In what we know as death.
Is this the crowning of a life
The aim or end thereof?
The totalled sum of consciousness
The ripened fruit of love?
It cannot be, for works of God,
Are wrought for nobler ends
And those away continue on
In the hearts of kin and friends.
It cannot be, for they live on
A little step away.
The soul, the everlasting life,
Has found a better day.
- O.J. Hanson
